I am Charmed, and You?

Possessing a charming way will open many doors. The latent charm lurking within you is your secret and hidden away gold mine. Your charm is like a pearl inside the oyster, and once it is discovered and polished can highlight and greatly enrich your personality and success.

Charm is that intangible quality within you, that when uncovered and freed from suffocating baggage, can add a subtle power to your presence that is irresistibly pleasing. The influence of this charm will attract, calm, assuage, placate and delight anyone with whom you come into contact. The ability to win over and influence people is in direct proportion to the charm you are able to summon up and demonstrate.

Charm can be developed like every other quality or attribute of the mind by adopting and practicing some basic rules. Adaptation, the art of agreeing with another person for the sake of amicability is lesson one. Finding common ground through genuine curiosity lowers defenses and paves the way for further exploration. Adaptation is an acknowledgment of another's 'right to be' right or wrong. As Voltaire said, "I do not agree with a word you say but I shall defend to the death your right to say it." The goal is to charm not to reform.

The primary rule is for you to be yourself. Any kind of physical makeover, including that phoney smile, won't do the trick. Affectations and pretense, even a well rehearsed choreography, is swift and certain death to charm. It is easy enough to attract and get attention by artifice, but to influence anyone beyond surface pleasantries, you must possess the power of charm within. A smile may win a first look, but it takes the conscious power of charm to obtain results. Authenticity is genuine and indisputable, easily picked up by others as the real thing, where pretense is usually unmasked.

By practicing the techniques of charm from within, you can put your prospect or antagonist at ease and even inspire them to do your bidding. Projecting charm requires give and take. The first technique is to listen. You must be an attentive listener interested in hearing what the other person has to say, which also means paying close attention and really comprehending what they have to say and where they are coming from in saying it.

The second fundamental is to always be humble, gentle and polite. By adopting these traits you will project a gracious and friendly manner which communicates the attitude that you are both likeable and approachable. Treat all people that you meet as potential friends. By displaying an open and positive attitude, and making others feel that your own life was incomplete before having met them, empowers them, and in turn they will become endeared to you. Interest, kindness, and humbleness are a major part of being charming. Giving praise is another.

Praise is like a rare gemstone which derives its worth from its scarcity. Praise is one of the greatest motivating forces there is, and when sincerely applied can work wonders. Praise a dog and he is your friend. Praise children and they will glow with joy. Praise your ability with gratitude and you increase the flow of intelligence into your endeavors. Positive praise feelingly applied is an active multiplier. Praise what you have and more will be available to you. Praise is a positive expression of appreciation. In the case of others, it gives hearty and warm approval and breaks down barriers. If anyone you meet deserves your approbation, by all means give it, and in so doing you enhance their appreciation of your own qualities, a win win situation powered by charm.

The third element of charm is tolerance. Life is a compromise, and to realize and accept this adds to ones peace of mind and enjoyment. People are entitled to their own opinion, and possessing tolerance allows respect for diverse opinions, without necessarily believing or sharing them. Respect for another's point of view will always enlarge your own world view. By exercising tolerance you dispel prejudice and vanity. It is the essential quality necessary to establish the true relationship between divergent situations on an impersonal basis. By becoming tolerant you learn not to take the world and the events and people in it too seriously, yourself included, thus enabling your sense of humor to expand. A true and easy smile and the ability to have a good laugh will relax you, and in so doing, aid you in peace of mind and efficiency. Tolerance and a good sense of humor are indeed additional gems to have in your crown of charm.

Charm is the art of pleasing. You need to be poised along with possessing the ability to act natural. Your ability to be pleasingly spontaneous and to act natural is a reflection of your habits. If these habits have been formed through the proper training of grace, poise and cleanliness, then they add to your charm. Negative habits of sloth, crudeness and loutishness diminishes. Charm refines the essence of your personality and permits the radiant beauty of your real being to shine through. Possessing charm will greatly augment your effectiveness. It makes it possible for you to always present yourself in the most favorable light. Through the glow of charm you will feel healthier and those worry lines will soon be replaced by your infectious smile. So train and equip yourself in the art and power of charm. It will enrich your presence and add immeasurably to your personal satisfaction and happiness.

What Is Success?

I recently read a thread in a forum in which somebody was dismissive of other people who wrote about success. His argument was that they wrote about success but were not successful themselves.

I made no comment, just smiled as others were diving in to dismiss what was nothing more than a self glorifying remark. To make such a statement he must have had a very narrow minded view of success, presumably relating success to massive wealth. Even on such a narrow, and plainly silly, definition, how on earth could he know whether others who wrote about success had been successful or not? Clearly, he could not.

With that statement he had insulted just about every person on the planet who could write. Success is a very personal and individual achievement. You could examine the life of any other person, and pinpoint successes in their lives; and if they could write, they could write about success. Those successes may be beyond the vision of somebody who is arrogant and judges people by their level of conspicuous wealth. However, those little successes in that person's life may be of relative importance to that person, whether a child, teenager or adult, and also to their family and friends.

Success is always relative, and can relate to just about any aspect of human existence. Nobody should just be dismissed as unsuccessful by others. An individual can, of course, be unsuccessful in a particular endeavour; even so, if they set out on that endeavour at all, then they are more "successful" than somebody who never found the impetus to do so, even though they want to.

It is even possible to "succeed" and "fail" at the same time. Taking an example from my own life, in my late teens I wrote my first two novels. I felt very satisfied, and considered the second novel at least a success, even though I could not find a publisher and never made a penny from it. As a novelist, I was a failure; yet I felt success.

When considering your own success it is worth bearing in mind a dictionary definition, just to help keep it in perspective: success is "An event that accomplishes its intended purpose." That is really all it is; it does not have to be about conspicuous wealth, nor does it have to be highly public.

The most obvious successes are, of course, visible in public and can often be accompanied by conspicuous wealth. However, you will usually find those successes have been preceded by a lot of smaller and less obvious successes, and failures as well, all of which were essential to that ultimate and big success that everyone sees today.

A famous and successful musician, for example, may have had their first success in mastering their first tune on a guitar. It was an essential success, but small and insignificant at the time. That same musician may have had their first public performance, when everything went wrong and the audience booed, and been dismissed by those present as a failure. Yet, it was an important step to their ultimate success.

Long term success in anything depends on a series of steps, each of which has to be taken to get to the ultimate destination. Each step can be its own little success, or sometimes a failure that sparks the greater effort that leads to ultimate success. Each is as important as the other.

Best Ways To Reduce Stress

Stress has the solution within the word. Rest plus two syllables to spare. Yes...yes...It is a product of self-creation. For the stress, you have to mostly blame yourself. They say you are the creator of your destiny and circumstances. When you think that you are the victim of circumstances, you are under stress. In short, when you are unable to cope up with a given situation, you are under stress!

Whether the businessmen have more stress or those in service have more stress? The answer is not 'No'. Both have stress. Stress or no stress, is the manner in which you manage your life. Your response to a given situation is the indicator whether you have the stress or not! To give you an example- it may be the best orchestra of the town; but if your heart is the muffled drum, what you can do about it? How you can enjoy the vibrations of the music?

When you know the signs and understand the sources of stress, with a firm resolution, you can find a remedy for it as well. Ups and downs are common in business. It is part and parcel of its sustainability. Women businessmen have a different type of stress. They have to strike the balance between running the business and the household duties.

One of the important steps to tackle the stress is to organize your environment, and budget your time. Set a time table and work according to that schedule. You can't have more than twenty four hours in a day. Your competitors too have just that many hours. Then how they are in a more advantageous position?

Think positively. Whether unnecessary thinking and stressful living, has solved any problems? Then, why worry over a matter over which you should not worry at all?

Your habits have lot to do with your stress. Never postpone for tomorrow, what you can do and complete today. Tomorrow never comes. Today it will be too late. Do it just now.

The sold saying goes, "A stitch in time, saves nine." What nine? I do not know. Again the wise saying goes:

"One thing at a time, and that done well,
Is a very good rule, as many can tell."

"So if you want, to gain your way,
Work while you work, and play while you play.
That is the way to be happy and gay!"

Remember, you can't control what happens in life. You can just face the situation. On the physical side, have a regular exercising schedule. Set a goal and continuously work on it. Take enough rest, but not to the point of laziness!

Achieve Your Goals For Success Step By Step

You have a dream! Now, how do you make it happen?

First, imagine that it is real. See every detail so clearly that you can reach out and touch it. You can feel the emotions of being there. For example, if you want a certain car, then what kind is it? What color is it? Imagine you are sitting in it like you will when it is brand new. How does it feel? How does it smell? Go for a drive in your car. If it's a convertible, drive with the top down! Experience the wind blowing in your face and through your hair. Hear the sounds around you. If you can take a real test drive in one, do that! Get a picture and post it where you will see it each day. Do this visualization several times a day until it becomes part of you. This action is important because your subconscious will help enable you to reach your goals to achieve your dream.

Next, break the big dream down into specific, measurable goals to get you there. If you are dreaming of something that costs a certain amount of money, like the car, you will set a date on when you want to have this money.

Once you have your date, then break your timeline down into segments. Perhaps you set the date one year from today. So the next step is to break that down into a goal for each month, then a goal for each week, then a goal for each day. It may be easier to start with the days, and then multiply out to the weeks and months.

Now that you know what your specific timeline is, you need to determine the specific actions you can take to reach each specific goal. If it is a money goal, like in the example above, you know how much money you need to put away each day. So now you need to figure out what actions you need to take each day in

If your goal is accomplishing a project, your timeline will be broken down into different steps you need to finish in order to get the whole project done. For example, if you are writing a book, you may need to do some research before you can write it. So the first major accomplishment on your way to that goal is to complete the research. Then you need to set a time to complete your basic outline. Then a time to complete each chapter. Then a time for editing. You can break each major step down into little steps that must be done each day in order to complete the entire book by your target date.

Now that you see what you will need to do each day in order to achieve your big goal, ask yourself if each day's task is reasonable. Be truthful. If you know you can do what is required each day, then you have your plan. If it will be very difficult to meet each day's requirement, then extend your timeline until you have something you know you can do every day. This way, you are setting yourself up for sure success!

It's just like the ancient philosopher said: "A journey of a thousand miles begins with one step." No matter how big your dream is, if you break it down into baby steps that you can do each day, you will find your journey to success filled with the joy of achieving many goals.

Reaching your smaller goals will, indeed, assure you that you are on your way to reaching your dream! You will gain the confidence you need to continue and receive the desire you need to do whatever actions are required each day!

Celebrate achieving even the little goals, and enjoy your journey to your certain success!

Use NLP For Smoking Cessation

NLP stands for NeuroLinguistic Psychology, and many people are finding as one of the more beneficial stop smoking programs. Typically, this is one part of a bigger overall package that may include several quit smoking products and methods. While it's evident that NLP does work on some who are looking for help to stop smoking, it's also apparent that no stop smoking hypnotherapy will work unless several factors are present.

Arguably, the most important factor is a personal desire to quit smoking cigarettes. If the smoker is looking for stop smoking aids because a spouse is constantly nagging about the smell of smoke, it's unlikely that any stop smoking help is going to work. Quitting smoking has to be the smoker's desire. Look at some examples between an internal and external drive.

If the smoker is fully aware of the health risks of smoking, he or she may say it's time to quit. An internal reason to seek quit smoking help is that you (as a smoker) know you're doing harm to your body, and to your family and friends who deal with your second-hand smoke. This is an internal prompt to quit cigarette smoking. In this case, the desire is real and quit smoking hypnosis or NLP may very well be just the boost you need to successfully quit.

Another important factor in this case is that the family and friends are likely to be supportive, rather than censuring an occasional desire for a cigarette. There's typically less pressure on the smoker who's trying to quit when he has a good stop smoking support network.

Some examples of external prompting to seek some program such as stop smoking hypnosis or NLP are the spouse who is constantly nagging about the smell of smoke, or even the cost of cigarettes. While those are legitimate reasons for stopping smoking, the desire is typically not as strong and it may be more difficult for the smoker to actually quit. When the desire for a cigarette comes around (as it most likely will), the smoker with external drives to quit smoking cigarettes is more likely to choose the cigarette even though the penalties will be the cost of the cigarettes or the nagging of the spouse.

That's not to say that external prompts can't be strong enough to help the smoker quit, only that those prompts aren't as likely to succeed as if the smoker truly has the desire.

If the cost of the habit is prompting the smoker to give it up, he may find that he's not willing to pay for follow-up treatment. Many who undergo some form of hypnosis find they need additional sessions to remain strong against the desire to smoke. Hypnosis isn't a free stop smoking therapy, but then nothing (other than sheer willpower) is free. If money alone is your prompting, you have to look at the long-term effects – money you'll save over the next year, two years or longer. That might help you justify the cost of hypnosis or NLP as a resource of how to stop smoking.

One of the most important aspects of hypnosis and NLP therapies is the focus on both the physical and mental aspects of quitting smoking. Smokers who use only a stop smoking aid such as gum may find themselves longing for a cigarette simply because they feel the need to have it in their hand. Hypnosis stop smoking programs usually help deal with that part of the addiction, as well as the physical symptoms of withdrawal.

So you want to be a millionaire?

Who doesn't...

I come across so many people that say "I'm going to make a million dollars in network marketing". I have conversations with people telling me how they're going to become millionaires.

That's great I'll help you reach that goal every way I can.

But you know what?

Not everyone is going to make a million dollars in network marketing... and that's ok.

Most people's lives would change with an extra $500 or $1000 a month.

If you're in network marketing the opportunity is here to become a millionaire.

let's talk about that for a second.

To become a millionaire in network marketing is going to take lot of WORK.

Yes, you can do it in the shortest amount of time compared to other business opportunities but you still have to WORK...

But you work smart not hard.

And the cost for start up is minimal.

But it still takes WORK!! no matter how you cut it.

To become a millionaire in network marketing you're going to have to do things differently.

What do I mean? One of my mentors Michael Dlouhy told me this.

"Duffy if you want more, you're going have to become more".

That made a lot of sense to me.

So what if you're not going to make a million dollars a year in network marketing?

Look I'm not saying you're not going to make a million dollars, but let's say it's not in the cards or that's an amount you can't relate to. (Lots of people can't relate to earning that kind of money)

How much do you make now?

I'll go with the average and say $30,000. Everything is ok, sometimes it's a struggle but you get by, but things could be better.

Imagine doubling your income. Can you imagine earning $60,000 per year?

Sure you can.

So if you didn't make a million dollars a year but you're making $60,000 in network marketing would you consider yourself a failure?

NO!!

But let's say your better at this then you thought and you're earning $100,000 to $150,000 per year.

Would you consider yourself a failure?

HELL NO!!

Do you think you could have a pretty good life earning that amount each year?

YOU BET!!!

Man if you're earning that kind of money from network marketing. You're winning trips, vacations, getting deals on conventions or even winning trips to your companies conventions, your winning shopping trips, bonus money, car programs, free product or services.

The things many people have to spend money on such as trips, vacations, products, services and cars. You're could be getting them from your company for a lot less or even free, because of your ranking in your company.

The life you may want may be a lot closer then you think.

Tell me, if you made $100,000 to $150,000 per year in network marketing you'd be a very happy camper, yes?

Tell me you wouldn't, I dare ya.

I believe in you!!

Until Next Time

What Role Does Ecology Play In Personal Success?

Could your failure to activate personal success be linked to self-sabotage? This isn't the type of sabotage that you would normally suspect or even give time to? What I am talking about is a part of your unconscious called the adaptive unconscious. This part of your mind is trained to predict and then avoid pain, displeasure or stress.

The adaptive unconscious doesn't set out to cause you to fail. It is working along a complex blueprint that has been developing since the moment you were born and in many cases it has been proven even in the womb.

This part of your mind doesn't just look at the benefits of a current action. It takes into account how this thought or this action is going to play into your total psychology.

There is something that we call ecology. In the same way in nature there are ecological consequences to building a factory; you have to make sure that you don't damage the water table or perhaps cause air pollution. Even though the factory would create jobs and is good for the economy the factory might be bad for the ecology. In that cause the factory might not be built.

Within our mind we also have ecology. Believe or not at this moment in time you are making all the best choices you can with all the information you have at hand. We are providing you with new information, new options, and alternatives using the other-than-conscious part of your mind.

With in this process today I am going to ask is that you listen to your own inner-self. That part of yourself that say, "This is ecological for me, this is safe for me to do."

As you practice using your mind it is important that you get a clear sense of what you want to accomplish. But equally important you need to know when you are off course, if you are not accomplishing the goals that you have set for yourself. Then that is the time for you to take a real hard look at what are you losing, or have to give up when you accomplish this new goal. That will be the sign that you are disrupting your minds ecosystem.

Be ready to let go of where you are so you can get to where you want to be. I often tell clients in order to do what you want to do, you must be willing to do what you need to do. This is where practicing at the other than-conscious level comes into play. I go into more detail on this in my book "Awaken the Genius, Mind Technology for the 21st Century." Every person has a "genius" it is about letting out to play.

When you are at home in a safe place practice your creative visualization, relaxation techniques. Place yourself in the future and allow your mind explore all the positive outcomes and use scenario planning to discover potential limitations in your plan. By practicing with a relaxed mind you free up both your inner creativity and your inner critic giving both equal time to explore. Once you have discovered potential pitfalls, learn to take steps to avoid or overcome them. Then focus 100% of your energy on success.
